The Jakarta Earthquake

On Wednesday 2 of September 2009 a massive earthquake hit the Java islands. I was in Singapore at the time so I never heard of it. At least twenty-three people have been killed. Most of them were trapped under their houses. Then 10 people were killed in Cianjur, eight in Tasikmalaya, three in Garut, one in Sukabumi and one in West Bandung. Another 5,000 people fled their homes fearing aftershocks in Cianjur. The houses of some of those who died in Cianjur were buried under a landslide. The quake struck less than 200 kilometres south of Jakarta at a depth of 49 kilometres, the US Geological Survey said. The people had to flee out of every building in Java and near south Jakarta. I think. the news about the quake is really bad. I couldn't believe it when I did some research on it.
